Prof

Igor O. Fritsky was born in Kyiv.
Graduated from the Kiev State University named after T.G. Shevchenko in 1987 . In 1987-1990 he is a PhD student, in 1990-1995 – an assistant professor, in 1995-1998 and 2001-2004 - Associate professor at the Department of Inorganic chemistry, in 2004-2005 - Professor Department of Inorganic chemistry, since 2005 – Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry. In 1991-1993 and 1994-1998 he is the vice-dean of the international relations at the department of chemistry. In 1990 he recieved his PhD degree (thesis “Synthesis, structure and properties of coordination compounds of 3d-metals with the pyruvil amino acids oximes”). In 2003 he passed a habilitation (habilitation thesis “Polynuclear coordination compounds of transition metals with N-ligands toward modelling the active metalloenzymes sites”). In 2007 he recieved a Ukrainian state prize in science and technology. He got a Honorary title “Honored Science and Technology Worker of Ukraine” (2017). He is a winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of Science and Technology (2017).
I.O. Fritsky worked in the universities of London, Leeds (UK), Seville (Spain), Göttingen (Germany) and Wroclaw (Poland). In 1998-2001 he was performing a scientific work in universities of Mainz and Heidelberg (Germany). He lectures on the normative courses "Physical Chemistry", “Chemical Bases of Life”, teaches a series of special courses for students and PhD Students, in particlar, “Biophysical Chemistry”,“Chemical Enzymology”, “Magnetochemistry”, “Chemistry of metalloproteins” for students and PhD Students of the Faculty of Chemistry of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Research interests: Physical inorganic and supramolecular chemistry; allosteric biomimetic catalysis; bioinorganic modelling of metalloenzymes; synthesis, structural studies, magnetic and electrochemical properties of polynuclear coordination compounds; studies on the formation of complexes in solutions.
Prof. I.O. Fritsky is a Member of the Scientific Council of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on Inorganic Chemistry, representative of Ukraine in the European Federation of Chemical Societies in Section «Chemistry in Life Sciences», a Member of the Editorial Boards of "Ukrainian Chemical Journal", “Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry”, and "Bioinorganic Chemistry and Applications" (2008-2017), a member of 2 specialized boards for the defence of DSc and PhD thesis. Member of the Section of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "New substances and materials". He recieved numerous grants from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Fund for Fundamental Research of Ukraine, the European Union (FP7, Horizon-2020), COST, NATO, the British Council, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). I.O. Fritsky frequently gives speaches at the international conferences, he is repeatedly invited to give the lectures in the universities of Heidelberg, Göttingen, Strasbourg, Debrecen, Wroclaw.
Prof. I.O. Fritsky is an author of over 500 scientific works, including more than 200 journal articles (including 8 review articles), 6 monographs and book chapters, 9 patents and 4 tutorials. h-index = 35 according to «Scopus» database. He supervised 3 DSc and 18 PhD theses.
